Graduate Advisor As graduate advisor for the Palouse Unit, he/she provides additional advice to the President and EXCOM from he/she's previous experience with the unit and/or other AFS involvements. Lubia Cajas de Gliniewicz
Lubia was born and educated in Guatemala and she came to Idaho in 2004 for a Master's program supported by a Fulbright Scholarship and University of San Carlos in Guatemala. She continued on to a Ph. D program in 2006 studying sustainable aquaculture development supported by the Ford Foundation, EPSCOR, the University of Idaho and other institutions. Lubia's research is focused on developing tools and models to evaluate socioeconomic and environmental factors in the life cycle of aquaculture systems, especially shellfish and finfish. Her research interests emphasize learning ways to clarify, estimate, and better understand environmental footprints and sustainability concepts, particularly in food commodities. Lubia enjoys many hobbies her favorites include skiing, swimming, and traveling. |
