giving a talk about aquatic nuisance species entitled: "ANS--A LOVE HATE
RELATIONSHIP". Topics will included IDFG's role in working with ANS and how it
impacts their operations and fisheries. It will be a presentation about how an
IDFG employee may have to think about ANS in their own lives. It will be a good
opportunity for people to learn some basics about New Zealand mud snails, and
zebra and quagga mussels. ●--Annual Salmon Bake Lunch When: Thursday November 5th 11:30am-1:30pm Where: CNR 1st Floor West Lobby by the Snag Price: $7.00/person $5.00/person if bring own plate and silverware and/or canned food item(s) ●--Aquaculture Campus Tour When: Thursday December 3rd 5:00am-7:00pm Where: CNR 108, 114 Wetlab, and ARI--Burbot Lab Description: Jimmy Barron, our aquaculture committee chair has set up a couple of tours of the aquaculture facilities on campus. The University of Idaho has 4 aquaculture facilities all of which have great and interesting projects involving the culture and health of fishes. We will start out in the CNR 114 wet-lab and give a tour of the facilities and fish in our building and then move upstairs in CNR 217 to talk a little bit about fish health and diagnostics for fishes. Finally, we will walk over to Poultry Hill where the Aquaculture Research Institute (ARI) Burbot Lab is located. After the tours, we will have food and refreshments at the burbot lab break room to all members who attend. If you would like more information, please contact Jimmy Barron. ●--Monthly Fly-tying nights When: First/Second week in December in the evening (stay tuned for more information...) Where: Tim Caldwell's pad (address will be posted soon!_ Description: Monthly to bi-monthly fly tying nights will be held at Tim Caldwell and Frank Wilhelm's houses and will contribute greatly to our "fish-o-flies" auction item we offer during the Wild Game Feed. This is a great way to meet and exchange information with students and professors in the art of fly tying and also to increase networking of faculty and students. The fly-tying nights are informal and all experience levels are encouraged so come out and learn how to tie a variety of flies!! For more information, please contact Tim Caldwell.
