Essential Mathematics in Forestry

The purpose of this section of the class is to understand what mathematical principals are essential to a successful career in forest management or science. The lectures, assignments, and labs in this section, will enable the student to achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Know how fundamental statistics are commonly used in forestry

  • Know and Understand how to use the SOH, CAH, TOA trigonometric rules

  • Understand the concept of tree growth and rates of growth
