Undergraduate Degrees

The Department of Rangeland Ecology and Management in the College of Natural Resources offers a program leading Bachelor of Science degrees in Rangeland Ecology and Management and Range Livestock Management. The range curriculum prepares students for the scientific management of rangelands with a variety of career opportunities. In addition, the range program provides ample opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge and skills in other areas of natural resource management, such as wildlife management, forestry, watershed, recreation, soils, agricultural economics, and animal science.

Range management is a unique profession that requires knowledge of many aspects of ecology and management. Undergraduate students have the opportunity to tailor their education to best suit their interests by choosing one of the B.S. degree options:

Rangeland Ecology and Management
    - 88 credits of core requirements and rangeland basics
    - 19 credits of courses in a specific area called a Career Track
    - 21 credits of "free electives" for you to explore

Range Livestock Management
(a cooperative major with the Department of Animal and Veterinary Science)
    - 109 credits of required coursework
    - 23 credits of electives
