Come study with us! Learn with 20 faculty members, 30 graduate students and over 40 undergraduates focused on fire science and management. We are the only University in the US where you can complete a BS degree in Fire Ecology and Management, or you can complete a Minor in Fire Ecology Ecology and Management while majoring in one of the other College of Natural resources or University of Idaho Degree Programs. You could also complete a certificate program or take just a few courses. The flexibility of our programs allows students to discuss their long-term goals with advisors and then decide upon which courses or programs they should take to meet these goals.

Our programs are unique in breadth and depth. We promote an interdisciplinary approach which focuses on student-centered problem based-learning. This approach allows our students to learn not just the fundamental and in-depth concepts to be affective fire managers but to take part in a richer learning experience where they must learn to solve complex real world problems, work within teams and think across educational boundaries.
