WILDERNESS COALITION
The California
Wilderness Coalition (CWC) protects the landscapes that make California
unique, providing clean air and water, a home to wildlife, and a place
for recreation and spiritual renewal. Since 1976, CWC has been the only
statewide organization in California dedicated to protecting
California’s last remaining wild places. We have field offices in
Eureka, Riverside, and Redding. Our central office is in Oakland.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The California
Wilderness Coalition is looking for enthusiastic interns to conduct
trail inventories on National Forests throughout California. We’re
looking for organized, intelligent and motivated people to hike through
the forest and document environmental damage along recreational trails.
Interns will camp
and hike through ancient forests, oak woodlands, and along streams to
photograph and document the environmental impacts of off-road vehicle
routes. All data will be meticulously compiled so it can easily be
entered into our route inventory database. Interns will be trained in
field survey skills and global positioning systems.
